Abstract:
In this study, the optimal placement problem known as Stock Placement Problem (SPP) in the literature has been adapted on the leather. Patterns used in this study have been placed on the leather by minimum wastage. Firstly, the image of the leather material which is used and patterns have been transferred to the computer. Secondly, external bounds of the leather material which is used and deformed regions if any have been determined using image processing techniques. Finally, desired patterns have been placed on the leather by minimum wastage with developed a new optimization method.
