Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to calculate the inter-carrier interference in visible light communications due to clipping of the OFDM signal and also to examine the distribution of these interferences. The proposed method is presented as prestudy for the methods which increase the spectrum efficiency in Asymmetrically Clipping Optical OFDM (ACO-OFDM) technique. Taylor Series Expansion is used to express the interference signal caused by the clipping process. In contrast to Bussgang model that presents statistical approach, this study aims to find deterministic expression of clipping noise. It is pointed out that the clipping noise model is a Gaussian distribution with respect to the simulations.
