Abstract:

Wireless sensor network (WSN) is an extensive research area that many scientists work on this promising technology over a few years. WSNs are like traditional wireless networks that have many stabile and mobile tiny nodes which communicate with base station and router nodes. Different from well-known wireless networks, these nodes have limited resources. The most vital constraints of this networks are energy consumption and service area. They also have additional sensors for measuring temperature, speed and movement. These networks are used not only in military areas but also in industrial and civilian areas such as traffic control, weather, pollution. There are many WSNs types that have many differences according to their performance areas, communication ranges, sensors types and applications. In this study, it is analyzed that WSN technologies especially platform free technology Oracle Sunspot. It is aimed that to measure statistics of energy consumptions and time usage when transmitting different size datagram packets in WSN. It is appraised that these measurements are valuable for researchers who will develop their WSN systems by considering this study.
