Abstract:

Cooperative communication systems are wireless communication systems in which the source/sources communicate with a destination via relay/relays. In this study, the effect of optimum power distribution is investigated for decode and forward (DF) based cooperative transmission technique. The results of the equal power allocation (EPA) and optimum power allocation (OPA) coefficients are compared. Both theoretical and simulation results show that the proposed system provides better bit error rate (BER) with the application of power allocation. In this system which uses binary phase shift keying (BPSK) modulation, it is shown that full diversity gain is obtained with numerical and theoretical results obtained over Rayleigh channels.
