Abstract:

In this paper, direction finding using correlative interferometer method is discussed. Correlative interferometer approach is used frequently due to its high accuracy, flexibility and wide-band suitability. Signals that are received from antennas are processed in FPGAs to provide frequency transform. Real and complex FFT coefficients obtained via frequency transform of signals are stored to memory in FPGAs. Stored components are processed with a main processing unit and phase difference is calculated. Phase differences obtained via all antenna pairs are compared with a reference direction table that is constructed beforehand and direction is found. This approach is tested with different signals that are produced by a signal generator in a setup containing horn antennas. It is possible to extract parameters in a faster way using this method.
