Abstract:

OpenStack is a cloud computing platform, where controller node interacts with other compute nodes to create virtual server instances. Using this OpenStack platform it is possible to create any node on demand and provide the required functionality. Using OpenStack we can create or delete a node in four ways, such as server creation using simple openstack command, server creation using Heat, server creation using Tacker and server creation using Mistral. In this work, first we experimentally find the creation time of a single server considering various orchestration procedure available in OpenStack platform. Then we extend the same procedure for creation of multiple servers (vnfs) and measure the performance of server creation time and command execution time. Further we compare these procedures to show the advantage and disadvantage with respect to some practical aspects.
