Abstract:

Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) is one of the controllers to enhance power quality (PQ). This paper presents a three Phase five level cascaded H-bridge multi-Level Inverter used in SAPF to compensate reactive power, improve the power factor and to suppress the total harmonic distortion (THD) in supply current due to Non-Linear Load. Instantaneous power theory (p-q) is used in proposed shunt active power filter for extracting harmonic from source currents. The simulation results on Matlab/simulink tool are presented.
