Abstract:

Mode coupling provoked by the non-ideality of the optical fiber is considered as serious challenge in orbital angular momentum-mode division multiplexing (OAM-MDM) system. In this work, we address a numerical investigation of the OAM mode components and OAM mode-coupling mechanism in recently proposed OAM few mode fiber (FMF) referred as inverse raised cosine fiber (IRC-FMF). The mode coupling due to both kinds of fiber impairments, core ellipticity and birefringence, are analyzed and investigated in (IRC-FMF).
