Abstract:

A new MIMO antenna geometry (Multiple Input Multiple Output) with two patches based on metamaterials has been studied in this paper. The starting antenna for our study is a classic rectangular patch antenna. Our first concern, to meet the requirements of our specifications, would be to broaden the bandwidth. The logical continuation of our methodological approach, consists in designing unit cells whose resonant frequencies are well in agreement with the applications to the band X. In order to ensure the effectiveness of our system of emission reception, we studied the application of metamaterials to the design of MIMO antennas for miniaturization and performance. The distance between the elements is small and close to 0.09 λo (wavelength in free space), where the coupling can be very strong. The application of these materials has contributed to the increasing of the antenna efficiencies in terms of reflection and transmission coefficient. To confirm our proposed technique using metamaterial, MIMO antennas are simulated and discussed in detail in terms of isolation in order to increase the transmission rate in systems using 5G.
