Abstract:
At disaster sites, high-position camera systems that operate independently of external power sources can enhance situational monitoring and safety. However, current systems require considerable effort and time to install cameras in elevated positions. This study proposes a solution utilizing a vine-like soft gripper for rapid installation of high-position cameras. The device can be easily installed around trunks using a customized telescopic grabber, with the vine-like gripper securely wrapping around the trunk. Equipped with a high-capacity battery and multiple cameras, the device supports continuous wireless real-time monitoring for more than three days, theoretically, using the ROS framework. In addition, it has the potential to serve as a high-mounting platform for other devices.
