Abstract:
Within a cost-constrained economic environment, the DoD, government agencies, and commercial businesses seek to maximize mission capacity by sharing services across mission segments over an integrated infrastructure using a common mission control system. To accomplish this goal, a new technique is required to orchestrate the execution of existing and emerging mission services. The Dynamic Mission Services Orchestrator (DMSO) provides an architecture, realized through a novel algorithm, to orchestrate the application of mission services in both near-real-time and real-time environments across diverse mission segments. This capability enables the addition of new mission services and accommodates existing mission services representing significant legacy investment. DMSO controls the number of services and the timing for when these services are introduced in each mission phase. DMSO relieves mission operators and analysts from doing so manually and thereby increases their mission capacity.
