Abstract:
High azimuth resolution and wide swath coverage pose contradicting requirements in conventional spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems. In order to overcome these inherent limitations, the technique of displaced phase centers multiple azimuth beams (MAB) has been proposed in recent years. The principle of MAB SAR is discussed here and then the problems related with this mode, such as the differential path error and nonuniform sampling error, are analyzed when the Earth rotation is considered. The corresponding solutions to these problems are presented.
