Abstract:
It is important to understand the factors that contribute significantly to increasing the student's motivation to perform academically and their soft skills. This paper discusses the implementation of My UiTM Engineering (MUE) to help students with cumulative grade point average (CGPA) below 3.0 to obtain better results. A meaningful mind setting talk with the comprehensive module for group training was designed for this program. To understand the characteristics of students with CGPA below 3.0, a survey was distributed to a batch of new students to analyze their opinions of their self-motivation, the level of familiarization on fundamental electrical and electronic subjects and the level of soft kills they acquired throughout their study. For the older batch of students who underwent the MUE program, the results showed that 73% of them were able to increase their CGPA as compared to the previous semester after participating in the MUE program.
