Abstract:

Students admission selection is an essential part of the student recruitment process in tertiary education in order to ensure student success in finishing the academic programme that is being considered. At the same time, it will also contribute to the diversity of the student body. The students admission selection problem is a complex multiple criteria decision-making problem and this paper proposes to use Preference Ranking Organization METHod for Enriching Evaluations (PROMETHEE) II to account for the multiple criteria that includes the students' prior academic result, academic progression route, cognitive score and admission interview score. An example using this approach is demonstrated to show the applicability.
