Abstract:
In the teaching of “Digital System Design”, taskoriented teaching methodology, where lectures are organized based on tasks, is effective to consolidate students’ mindset of hardware design and improve students’ performance. However, this teaching method scrambles the knowledge points, i.e., a particular topic is not introduced systematically as a whole; instead, some points of the topic are introduced with a task, while some other points of the topic are introduced with some other tasks. This may cause difficulties for some students to systematically study the subject. In this paper, we propose to use mind map to recover the systematism of the task-oriented teaching method, such that students can enjoy the effectiveness of the teaching method, but meanwhile are not affected by its out-of-order introduction of knowledge points.
