Abstract:

A zero-IF tuner IC with wide RF input range (92 dB) and low power consumption (530 mW in a single 3.3 V supply) for full-segment ISDB-T digital broadcast reception was realized using 0.25 μm RF-CMOS technology. Tenthorder baseband filters were implemented instead of external surface-acoustic-wave filters. The wideband receiver selects one of two LNAs under the condition of full-segment ISDB-T 64QAM modulation (CR=3/4), and provides either low-IF or direct-IF output. A sensitivity of -80 dBm was achieved.
