This paper gives a conceptually and algorithmically much simpler method for the model of a moving-boundary, fixed frame length, integrated multiplexor of the above paper. The method uses a Markov chain to obtainH_{[0,R]}andH_{R+t,s}, which can then be used to solve for the same joint distributions of queue length and expected waiting time as in the paper. This method enables a practitioner to use available standard packages to obtain system performance measures.
