Abstract:

One of the recent developments in renewable energy sources is use of fuel cells. Isolated boost converter was mostly utilised to increase fuel cell voltage. Efficiency and regulation of output voltage are two major problems of converter. First problem was solved by using zero current switching technique achieving high efficiency with reduced switching losses. Next voltage regulation is obtained by developing different control strategies. In this paper five different control topologies (LPCM, NLC, PSM, SMC and H-infinity) are developed and simulated in MATLAB. Obtained results are compared in terms of efficiency and time response parameters.
