Abstract:

A mathematical treatment of the random field which we have used as a stochastic model for wind pressure exciting the ocean surface is presented. It is a composite stochastic process consisting of an infinite series of ordinary processes and point processes. It is shown that this is a well-defined homogeneous fourth-order random field.
