Abstract:
Cascaded digital predistortion can reduce the pre-distorter model complexity while keeping the linearization performance. This paper evaluates the performance of cascaded DPD with a high nonlinear power amplifier (PA). A 2-stage memory polynomial (MP) model DPD structure is analyzed and compared with a single stage MP and generalized memory polynomial (GMP) model DPD. The linearization performances of the identified DPDs are evaluated in terms of improvement on adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) and error vector magnitude (EVM). Tests are done on a Doherty power amplifier with a Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE). The computational complexity and the convergence speed of the DPD identification are discussed.
