Abstract:

A novel fractional-order multiphase sinusoidal oscillator topology is presented in this paper. The implementation of the required intermediate lossy integrator stages is performed using current-mirrors as active elements. Therefore, the derived structure offers electronic adjustment capability of its characteristics. An important feature is that it is possible to generate even and odd number of phases, without changing the core of the topology, just by adding extra current mirror stages. The behavior of the proposed oscillator is verified using the Analog Design Environment of the Cadence software and the Design Kit from Austrian Mikro Systems 0.35μm CMOS process.
