Abstract:
The paper is a pilot study on OSAS diagnostics using automated measurement of cranio-facial features by RGB-D sensors. OSAS - obstructive sleep apnea syndrome - becomes very often phenomenon in respirology affecting the quality of life in each age. Due to insufficient number of sleep laboratories and specialized ambulances in Slovakia, it is very helpful to design fast and automated supporting/screening tool for OSAS predispositions confirmation. The high-risk patients will be prioritized for detailed conventional diagnostics. In this article we bring a view on suitability of RGB-D imaging sensors, their limitations and methodology for OSAS diagnostics.
