Abstract:

We address the use of squeezed signal states in continuous-variable quantum key distribution over optical channels inclined to fluctuations, which are known to limit applicability of the protocols. We show advantage of using squeezed states of light in such scenario in comparison to conventional use of coherent states. The squeezing however should be optimized for the given channel conditions. The results are promising for realization of efficient secure quantum communication over fluctuating channels, which can be part of hybrid photonic networks.
