Abstract:

A 3x3 reflectarray antenna in Ku band and its elements are designed and analysed in this paper. The Proposed elements are titled as hexagonal meshed rectangle because of its novel shape. The proposed antenna is single layered and centre fed. The unit cells are identical in nature and the phase compensation is achieved by varying the delay stubs. The main 3x3 reflectarray antenna is co- axially fed using a source patch resonating at the same frequency as the antenna at 13 GHz, kept at a distance of 57.7mm. The return loss and the phase performance of the antenna were satisfactory and a gain of 25.978 dBi was obtained. The antenna can find its applications in DBS, remote accessing and disaster management.
