Abstract:

In Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs), multi-hop broadcast is one the fundamental communication schemes to support message propagation through zones of interest. In VANETs, it is essential to design a reliable multi-hop broadcast scheme to satisfy requirements of reachability and bandwidth consumption. Since in sparse networks, reachability is the primary consideration, in this paper we utilize cross-layer information to enhance the reachability of broadcast while maintaining relatively good bandwidth performance in VANET. In this paper, we apply Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) to design a multi-hop broadcast scheme. Based on ANFIS Tool in MATLAB and ns-3 simulation results, the performance of our proposed Cross-layer Multi-hop Broadcast based on Adaptive Neuro-FUZZY Inference System (BANFIS) in urban environment is evaluated.
