Abstract:

Coverage is crucial to the commercial success of New Radio, directly affecting the quality of service and network construction cost. Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) is a bottleneck channel, and its coverage enhancement technology needs to be studied as a priority. For scenarios requiring coverage enhancement, the signal-to-noise ratios of the receivers are relatively low, and channel estimation is the bottleneck in terms of link-level performance. Therefore, it is necessary to consider sequence-based PUCCH transmission schemes, which can provide less needed demodulation signal-to-noise ratio. In this paper, a serial cascade splicing sequence scheme is proposed and discussed. In this scheme, the receiver first performs sequence detection on the first half of the sequence to initially estimate the range of sequence numbers. Then the sequence detection is performed on the second half of the sequence. Finally, the detected sequence number is converted into bit information. This scheme can reduce the number of sequence detections and, thus, the complexity of the receiver. The simulation results show that the method can effectively improve transmission reliability.
