Several practical residual interference models are compared via network simulation of wireless sensor networks with interference cancellation and no spreading. The packet delivery ratio is investigated for the network with various parameters. The simulation results indicate that using a certain popular residual interference model can lead to unreliable and inaccurate results and proposed a simplified stochastic model as a close match to the full stochastic model.
