Abstract:
Suffered from low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and dense multipath, synchronization acquisition for pseudonoise (PN) sequences is critical in UWB communication systems. Conventional acquisition method adopts fixed-threshold, which always results in high false alarm probability. In this paper, an threshold scheme based on peak-to-average ratio of correlation energy is proposed, and the probability of false alarm and detection is also analyzed. Simulation results show that, the false alarm probability can be reduced an order of magnitude at SNR less than -lOdB, while the detection probability coincides with the conventional when using PN sequences of length 127 in the CM1 and CM3 channel.
