Abstract:
Supporting diverse services under a unified system is a major concern for the realization in the fifth generation (5G) cellular networks. In 5G systems, the massive connection property of massive machine-type communications (mMTC) results in the huge demand of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) resources. Furthermore, greater overhead of PDCCH is indispensable for ultra-reliable downlink transmission in ultra-reliable and low-latency communications (URLLC), which exacerbates the shortage of PDCCH resources. In this paper, we propose a downlink group-downlink control information (DCI) based scheduling scheme to save control channel and improve the 5G system performance. Simulation results are finally provided to show that the PDCCH overhead can be greatly reduced and the reliability of downlink control information is enhanced.
