Abstract:
Unitary space-time modulation (USTM) can realize communication without channel state information (CSI), which suits for rapid fading scenarios. However, its bit error rate (BER) is too high at low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Concatenating it with efficient coding always needs too much calculation complexity and storage and results in unacceptable time delay. We propose a bit interleaved coded USTM scheme and its corresponding iterative decoding algorithm with hard decision feedback. Simulation shows that it can greatly improve the BER performance with only limited calculation increment and no decrease of the data rate.
