Abstract:
To solve the suboptimal routing problem between Mobile Node(MN) and Communication Node(CN) in the case where both endpoints are located in the same PMIPv6 domain, RFC6705 proposed a localized routing solution which allows nodes to exchange traffic directly by using localized forwarding or a direct tunnel between Mobile Access Gateways(MAGs). However, if the MN moves to a new MAG, the re-establishment delay of localized routing will be long and many packets will lose. To overcome these issues, we proposed a new scheme which combines the fast handover procedure with the re-establishment procedure of localized routing. During the fast handover procedure, the previous MAG will report existing localized routing information to the new MAG so as to quicken the reestablishment procedure of localized routing. The analytical results show the proposed scheme can achieve lower reestablishment delay and packet loss than the original scheme in FRC6705.
