Abstract:
Due to the specialized requirements of wireless sensor networks in aquatic environment such as waterproof, high packet delivery ratio, proper accuracy of monitoring parameters and the limitations of simulation software itself, we design and implement a multi-purpose data gathering and analysis testbed (ACMTB). It is composed of 28 wireless sensor nodes attached to cascade hubs and connected to a control sever through a USB to serial line, so that the data from the nodes and commands from the server can be transmitted. Indoor aquatic environment simulation boxes are invented to assess the accuracy of parameters sent by sensors underwater and to facilitate the data analysis, user friendliness web based tools are developed. Indoor deployment test results demonstrate that the testbed is of convenience to use and reliable.
