Abstract:

A full-vectorial mode solver based on the finite volume method is developed for efficiently solving photonic waveguide problems with general permittivity and permeability geometry. Different types of numerical examples (including rectangular dielectric waveguides, holey fibers, and hybrid plasmonic-dielectric waveguides) are carried out to demonstrate the wide applicability of the method.
