In OppNets, Epidemic routing is a highly successful protocol in terms of data delivery and minimal delivery delay. New improvements stemmed from this protocol leading to context awareness in OppNet forwarding protocols in their decision making process. However, these improvements make forwarding decisions in OppNets to be highly destination-oriented. The potential of OppNets in destination-less OppNets has not been explored yet. This paper explores the performance of Epidemic routing in destination-oriented and destination-less OppNets and further discusses improvements to Epidemic routing in destination-less OppNets.
