Abstract
In this paper, ant colony system algorithm (ACSA) is used to detect the edge of grayscale images. The novelty of the proposed method is that the artificial ants used for detecting the edges of images have global memory capacity. Moreover, a good result has been gotten by using only one ant. A large number of experiments have been done to determined suitable parameters of ACSA. The results of the experiments show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
