ABSTRACT
This paper presents a new simulation framework for liquid wetting across porous textiles with anisotropic inner structure. The influence of the textile's properties on the wetting process, such as contact angle, hygroscopicity and porosity, is considered into the liquid wetting process in detail. By liquid-textile coupling, the wetting process is simulated through liquid absorption/desorption by fiber and liquid diffusion in the means of inner fiber, intersected fibers and capillary action. This framework can simulate the liquid wetting across the porous anisotropic textile by dripping single or multiple drops of water with realistic results.

Wetting of Porous Solids
This paper presents a simple, three stage method to simulate the mechanics of wetting of porous solid objects, like sponges and cloth, when they interact with a fluid. In the first stage, we model the absorption of fluid by the object when it comes in ...
A conservative SPH method for surfactant dynamics
In this paper, a Lagrangian particle method is proposed for the simulation of multiphase flows with surfactant. The model is based on the multiphase smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) framework of Hu and Adams (2006) [1]. Surface-active agents (...
Incompressible-compressible flows with a transient discontinuous interface using smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH)
A new two-phase incompressible-compressible Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method has been developed where the interface is discontinuous in density. This is applied to water-air problems with a large density difference. The incompressible phase ...
