A new GPS path tracing application system, called iGPS, is developing by Fu Zhou EMAX Company. iGPS system needs to transmit GPS data between the smart phone and EMAX watch with built-in GPS receiver in the way of low energy and reliability. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) can help realize these requirements of the iGPS system. However, at present there is lack of application BLE profile for GPS data transmission in BLE. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a GPS application profile based on BLE, which is named BLE-GPS. Taking data transmission requirements of iGPS system into account, BLE-GPS defines four services of Retransmission, Device, BlockInfList and GPSDataByBlock. The syntax and semantic of transmitted data in these services are depicted and the behavior descriptions of these services are defined. BLE-GPS has already been applied in iGPS system.
