Abstract:

This paper deals with computer simulation of nonlinear control systems specified in the form of so-called generalized transfer functions. It briefly summarizes the underlying theoretical concepts, discusses the basics of their software implementation in Maple computer algebra system and presents special-purpose tools developed for simulation of generalized transfer functions in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. Results of sample simulations carried out with a help of the tools are used for demonstration of some of the fundamental properties of generalized transfer functions, such as their formal identity with traditional Laplace-transform-based transfer functions in the linear case or their block diagram algebra.
