Abstract:

In the paper, a new discrete time sliding mode flow control strategy for the connection-oriented communication networks with multiple virtual circuits is proposed. The networks are modelled as discrete time systems. The proposed controllers are designed in such a way that the closed-loop system stability and finite time error convergence are ensured. Conditions for no data loss and full bottleneck link bandwidth utilization in the network are presented and strictly proved. Transmission rates generated by the controllers are always upper bounded and nonnegative.
