Abstract:

The rapid proliferation of devices of the Internet of Things requires a vast network of heterogeneous devices to maintain the ability to communicate rapidly and seamlessly. The transition to delay sensitive Tactile Internet applications would demand on a new information and communications infrastructure. In our previous work, we have proposed a fast Location basEd Source Switching (LESS) mechanism with rerouting capabilities to ensure reliable throughput. In this paper, we present an SoC implementation of LESS and evaluate the performance and reliability of a LESS network. The evaluation results show that LESS can bring significant improvements in performance and reliability to sustain Tactile Internet.
