Abstract:

Agriculture and the food industry creates many jobs in the European Union (EU). Thanks to natural conditions, especially its farmers' knowledge, and skills, the EU is the world's leading agricultural product producer. Unfortunately, at the same time, there is a small share of young people in the total number of EU farming producers and entrepreneurs. It is assumed that innovative forms of education can further interest young people in entrepreneurship in agriculture. This paper describes the results of implementing the Erasmus KA2 project AGRIENT, whose main goal is the development of competencies and skills for young people who want to develop their agribusiness. The project also developed an innovative training system with the application of virtual reality technology.
