Abstract:

Intermodal nonlinear signal distortions are experimentally investigated in recirculating loop transmission over three-mode fiber. A Q-Factor penalty of up to 0.7 dB is measured at 17 nm wavelength separation between interacting wavelength channels, independent of transmission reach.
