Biometric identity management (IdM) system is essential in today’s applications due to its convenience and high verification performance. With the rapid proliferation of biometric IdM, the security and privacy of the biometric system are getting important to prevent unfavorable events. In particular, the stolen biometric template can lead to many severe problems, e.g., impersonation or privacy invasion. Due to the irrevocable traits of biometrics, compromisation of the original biometric template usually implies permanent loss of identity. This thesis aims to enhance the security and privacy of unimodal and multimodal biometric systems in terms of biometric template protection.
