Abstract

This paper presents a fault detection H filter design for uncertain linear systems in the presence of time-varying delays. The methodology is based on the computation of a reference threshold from the residue generated between the states of the system and the filter estimates such that when the residue takes values higher than this reference threshold the uncertain system is considered in fault. The main difference between the proposed method and other ones in the literature is that the filter design considered in this paper takes into account the average of the time-varying delay estimation. Therefore, the proposed methodology does not require online measurement of the time-delay, avoiding increase the implementation difficulty and the filter cost. Numerical simulations illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
