Abstract

EVENT REPORT: Recently, the ITU-T has started to increase their efforts in the field of co-operation with academia. A consultation meeting of ITU-T and representatives of numerous Universities in early 2007 concluded that one suitable way ahead would be the organisation of a series of academic conferences, addressing issues of mutual interest. As a result, the first ITU-T Kaleidoscope conference took place in Geneva, 12-13 May 2008. To highlight the forwardlooking character of the event, it was themed on ‘Innovations in NGN’.
