Foreword: This volume contains the proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering and Software Development (MODELSWARD 2019). This conference is sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC). It is also associated with the following organizations: the ACM Special Interest Group on Software Engineering (ACM SIGSOFT), the ITHEA® International Scientific Society (ITHEA® ISS), and the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS). MODELSWARD provides a venue for researchers, engineers, academics, as well as industry practitioners from across the world to present the results of their research and development work involving the use of models and model-driven engineering methods and technologies for advanced software development. This year, MODELSWARD received 76 paper submissions from 28 countries of which 19,7% were accepted as full papers. This reflects the organizers’ commitment to ensuring a high-quality scientific event. A double blind paper review was performed for each submission by a Programme Committee team of established researchers and domain experts. To recognize the best submissions and the best student contributions, several awards were conferred during the closing session of the conference. These were selected based on a combination of the submission review results, as assessed by the Program Committee, and the quality of the presentation, as assessed by session chairs at the conference venue. All papers presented at this conference will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library shortly following the event. A short selection of papers presented at the conference were chosen to be extended and revised for subsequent publication in the CCIS Series book to be published by Springer. The conference program included a panel and three invited talks delivered by internationally distinguished speakers, namely: Hans Vangheluwe (University of Antwerp, Belgium and McGill University, Canada), Ulrich Frank (University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany) and Ed Seidewitz (Model Driven Solutions, United States). We would like to express our gratitude to all the people who contributed to MODELSWARD 2019. First of all, to the authors, whose quality work was essential for this conference; and, second, to all members of the Program Committee and auxiliary reviewers, who volunteered their valuable time to help us with their expertise. We would also thank the invited speakers for their excellent and important contributions by sharing their knowledge and vision. Last but not least, special thanks go to all the members of the INSTICC team whose hard work was fundamental to the success of the conference. (More)
