Foreword: This book contains the proceedings of the 19th International Conference on Security and Cryptography (SECRYPT 2022) held in Lisbon, Portugal from 11– 13 July, 2022. SECRYPT is sponsored and organized by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC). SECRYPT seeks submissions from academia, industry, and government presenting novel research on all theoretical and practical aspects of data protection, privacy, security, and cryptography. Papers describing the application of security technology, the implementation of systems, and lessons learned are also encouraged. Papers describing new methods or technologies, advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques and vision papers indicating future directions are also encouraged. Furthermore, the conference program includes 2 plenary keynote lectures, given by Prof. Sokratis Katsikas (Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway) and Prof. Luca Vigano (King's College London, United Kingdom). In response to the call for papers, SECRYPT has received 118 papers in total, with contributions from 28 different countries in all continents, confirming the success and global dimension of SECRYPT 2022. To evaluate each submission, a double-blind paper evaluation method was used: each paper was reviewed by at least three experts from the International Program Committee in a double-blind review process. The selection process followed strict criteria. So, only 22 papers were accepted and orally presented at SECRYPT as full papers (20% of submissions) and 24 as short papers (22% of submissions). The program also includes 36 poster presentations. With this acceptance ratio, SECRYPT 2022 continues the tradition of previous editions as a distinguished and high-quality conference. As in previous editions of the Conference, based on the reviewer’s evaluations and the presentations, selected authors from the conference will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers for a book that will be published by Springer with the best papers of SECRYPT 2022. We would like to express our thanks to all colleagues involved in supporting the conference. Our thanks go to the members of the Program Committee and the external reviewers, for all their hard work in the paper evaluation. A special thanks goes to the keynote speakers, who accepted our invitation to deliver keynote talks at the conference, sharing their vision, knowledge and research outcomes. Thanks to all the authors who submitted papers and all the conference’s attendees. A successful conference involves more than paper presentations alone. It is also a meeting place, where ideas about new research projects and other ventures are discussed and debated, and we are glad to be finally able to return to meet in presence after two years of COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, a social event including a conference dinner/banquet has been planned for evening of July 12th in order to promote this kind of social networking. Finally, a word of appreciation for the hard work of the INSTICC team; organizing a conference of this level is a task that can only be achieved by the collaborative effort of a dedicated and highly capable and energetic team. We hope you find the program of SECRYPT 2022 interesting and inspiring for your future research, and offering helpful references in future works.
