Abstract:
In this study, Augmented Reality based Distance Information Display System has been developed and evaluated, which can be used with very simple operation. By capturing target objects with a RGB-D camera, the system automatically measures lengths and gaps of the target objects. The system extracts and displays the lengths that workers may want to measure by a heuristic filtering process. An experiment was conducted to evaluate the Distance Information Display System. The experimental results showed that the Distance Information Display System may resolve the problems of manual measurement and reduce the measurement time.
