Abstract: The development and implementation of highly automated transport (unmanned vehicles) is accompanied by a number of problems, including problems related to liability for accidents and causing harm involving unmanned vehicles. The indicated problem faces the legislators and the public of all countries where highly automated transport is produced, tested and introduced. A number of countries have already made an attempt to legislatively regulate issues related to the production of highly automated and unmanned vehicles, their operation and liability for damage. In the presented article, an analysis of the current legislation of the regulatory framework and the conditions for prosecution for damage caused by a highly automated vehicle as a result of a traffic accident, as well as an analysis of the positions of the authors on the topic under study, is carried out. Based on the study, the author formulates proposals on the need for amendments and additions to the current legislation of th e Russian Federation related to fixing the grounds and conditions for holding liable, as well as determining the range of subjects to be liable for damage caused by a highly automated vehicle.
