Abstract: Young people are dynamic, energetic, eager to socialize and to have fun. Based on these considerations, young people are an important segment of the tourism sector. At the same time, these characteristics can lead to the practice of unsustainable forms of tourism. The present study aims to highlight whether young people are prone to sustainable tourism or are in the sphere of influence of overtourism. The study is based on a questionnaire with 20 questions and a statistical analysis based on calculating the correlation ratio (R - Multiple R) and the coefficient of determination (R2 - R square) between certain dependent variables (tourist variables) and certain independent variables (socio-economic variables) but also performing a simple regression.The results indicate that young people are not necessarily followers of sustainable tourism and that the age is not a variable with a large influence on young people’s tourism preferences.
